To anyone travelling in Sulawesi

1. As regards Sulawesi, the Lonely Planet guidebook to Indonesia (from 2003) is not up-to-date at all! Most prices are at least twice as high as indicated in the book.

2. Manado is a f. shithole but Hotel Celebes is a shithole in the shithole. Don't go there! It will swallow you up and spit you out as a shapeless, stinky ball of lifeless matter. Go to New Angkasa instead.

3. The Gorontalo-Togean Island boat doesn't depart twice a week anymore, but only once, starting from Gorontalo on wednesdays and from Ampana on mondays.
